A Waterloo woman has been arrested on a driving violation in Fayette County.


At about 12:30am today (Wednesday, March 8), a Fayette County deputy pulled over a car about five miles west of Hawkeye, on a traffic infraction.

During the stop, the officer determined that the driver, 20 year old Rocio Govea-Becerra of Waterloo, had a revoked driver's license.

She was taken into custody on charges of Driving While Revoked, Failure to Have SR22 Insurance, and Operating Without Registration.

Govea-Becerra was held in the Fayette County jail until she appears in court.

And an Elgin man, 51 year old Steven Boleyn, was arrested over the weekend on an outstanding warrant. Just before 8pm Sunday (March 5), Boleyn was located by the Fayette County Sheriff, and arrested for Failure to Pay Child Support. He was held in the county jail on $150 cash bond.
