A Waterloo man, wanted on several Black Hawk County arrest warrants, has been taken into custody in Fayette County.


On Wednesday (March 27), the Fayette County Sheriff received a tip that a person wanted by authorities was at an apartment complex in West Union.

Following the investigation, 61 year old Michael Rhoads of Waterloo, was arrested on 3 Black Hawk County warrants: Drug Possession with Intent to Deliver, Driving While Revoked and OWI 1st Offense. The total bond on Rhoads had been placed at $80,000.

After the arrest, officers conducted a search of the apartment, where they found methamphetamine, marijuana packaged for distribution, and drug paraphernalia.

Rhoads was held in the Fayette County jail on charges of Possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver, possession of methamphetamine and Marijuana third offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Sheriff’s office was assisted by the West Union Police Department.

The sheriff is reminding the public to report any suspicious activity.
