A Waterloo man was arrested over the weekend in Fayette County, after authorities received a report of suspicious activity.


The Fayette County Sheriff's Office got a report at around 5:30am Saturday (May 4th), that there was some suspicious activity going on in or near West Union.

A responding deputy stopped a corresponding vehicle on Highway 18, just west of West Union.

The driver, 29 year old Michael Hawthorne of Waterloo, was arrested for Driving While his License is Suspended, Failure to Prove Financial Liability, Possession of Marijuana-2nd Offense, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Hawthorne was held in the Fayette County jail until his initial court appearance.
