Waterloo Police Investigating Kidnapping of Lawler Man

A Lawler man called 911 early this morning, Monday January 25, to report he'd been kidnapped. The Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier reports the 62-year old man told police he was getting gas at a Kwik Star in New Hampton around 1 am when a man, claiming to have a gun, told the victim to give him a ride to Waterloo.

The suspect then had the victim drive him to an apartment on Ridgeway Ave in Waterloo. At that time, the victim told police he was assaulted. At 2 am, he was able to call the police and report the incident. Waterloo police are now investigating the kidnapping, and say the man's injuries are not serious.
