Waterloo Care Worker Convicted of Abuse

WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) — A 28-year-old woman has been convicted of abusing a client while working at Country View Care Center in Waterloo.

A Black Hawk County jury on Friday found April Jones guilty of dependent adult abuse with injury. Witnesses say she punched the 22-year-old autistic man in the stomach and face and grabbed him around the neck at the care center a year ago.

Jones testified that she was trying to restrain the man and did not injure him.
