UTV Accident Injures 2 Juveniles, 1 Seriously Hurt

Two juveniles have been injured, one of them seriously, in a weekend Utility Terrain Vehicle accident.

Just before 3pm Saturday (Oct. 10), the Fayette County Sheriff was called to a UTV accident at 11391 50th Street, east of Oelwein. Two juveniles were injured.

One of them was airlifted to University Hospitals in Iowa City with serious injuries; the other was taken to Mercy One Oelwein for treatment.

Names of the youths were not released.

The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol and Fayette County Sheriff; they were assisted at the scene by the Iowa DNR, Fayette Ambulance and Mercy One Ambulance.
