UPDATE: Names Released In Fatal Waterloo Shooting
Authorities have identified the victim in a deadly weekend shooting in Waterloo.
According to police, 23-year-old Dayton Matlock died from a gunshot wound. Officers found his body in an alley in the 1400 block of Grant Ave. Saturday around 3:30 AM after they arrived to investigate reports of a shooting.
Two women were also shot. Police said 39-year-old Bobbi Lee of Waterloo and 30-year-old Shanayia Hamer of Des Moines were both taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The homicide remains under investigation. Investigators are still interviewing witnesses and they are asking for the public's help in solving the crime. Anyone with information about the shooting should call the Waterloo Police Department at 319-291-4340.
