A Fort Atkinson man is being charged with causing a two-vehicle accident in Winneshiek County.


According to the sheriff, it happened just after 12:30pm Thursday (Dec. 10) on Highway 150 in Washington Township, in southern Winneshiek County.

84 year old Anthony Kruse was northbound on 150 in his SUV, when he pulled over to the shoulder to get mail from his mailbox. Kruse then turned to cross the highway to enter his driveway, and turned in front of a pickup driven by 40 year old Laurie Miller of West Union.

Miller did take evasive action, but the two collided. No one was injured. Total damages amounted to $13,000.

Kruse is being charged with Failing to Yield the Right of Way.
