Two Motorcycle Accidents Seriously Injure the Drivers

The Linn County Sheriff is investigating 2 serious motorcycle accidents Tuesday.

The first accident was at about 1:42pm, near the intersection of Covington Road and Vinton Street in Palo.

A motorcycle driven by 18 year old Isabel Pounders of Tiffin, went out of control and entered the ditch. Pounders was not wearing a helmet; she was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids with serious injuries.

The second accident happened at about 8:24pm, at the Highway 13 southbound ramp, to the Highway 30 eastbound ramp, west of Mt. Vernon.

21 year old Ontario Taylor of Cedar Rapids lost control of his motorcycle as he was exiting Highway 13, colliding with the guardrail.

Taylor, who was wearing a helmet, was airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, with life-threatening injuries.
