Two Local Men Arrested in Separate Cases

An Oelwein man has been arrested on an assault charge.

Just before 12:30pm Wednesday, Oelwein police were called to a domestic disturbance in the 500 block of 3rd Avenue NW. There, 23 year old James Baird was taken into custody for domestic assault with intent to injure.

Oelwein Police have arrested a local man on an outstanding warrant.

At about 9:30pm Wednesday, 40 year old James Wright of Oelwein turned himself in to police. He was wanted on a Fayette County warrant for failure to appear, on an original charge of harassment 3rd degree.
