Police are investigating a Saturday shooting that left two people injured in Waterloo.

The incident happened in an alley behind an apartment complex at 265 Madison Ave. Officers were called to the location just before 6 PM on a report of shots fired.

In a press release, Waterloo Police Lieutenant Robert Duncan said when authorities arrived, they found two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Duncan confirmed that Waterloo Fire Rescue transported both victims to a local hospital for treatment.

The victims' names and conditions weren't immediately released.

Duncan said the case remains under investigation. He didn't reveal any information about any potential suspects.
