Two Cows are Dead After Being Hit by a Car

This is the time of year when motorists should be watching to avoid an accident with a deer; but this motorist wasn't looking out for cows, when he collided with two of them.

This accident happened shortly before 7:30pm Saturday (Nov. 23), in the 2800 block of Benson Shady Grove Avenue, south of Jesup.

Spencer Kantaris of Fairbank was driving southbound, when he struck 2 cows that had wandered out onto the road. Kantaris sustained minor injuries, but one of the cows was killed, while the other had to be euthanized at the scene by law enforcement.

The owner of the cattle was contacted. Other loose cattle were located and herded back.

The Brandon Fire Department and Jesup Ambulance assisted the Buchanan County Sheriff.
