Three People Hurt in Four Vehicle Accident Near Fairfax

Three people have been injured in a 4-vehicle accident in Linn County.

It happened just before 4pm on Highway 151 near Fairfax.

A line of vehicles had stopped, waiting for the lead vehicle to make a left turn, when the last car in the line was rear-ended by a car driven by a  17 year old girl.

The vehicle she struck was pushed into another vehicle, rear-ending a 3rd vehicle, which was pushed into a 4th vehicle.

The 17 year old juvenile motorist was taken to Mercy Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Another driver, Chatandra Williams of Cedar Rapids, along with a passenger in the 3rd vehicle, Amos Topka, were treated at a local hospital.

The accident is still under investigation.
