Thomas Rhett Reveals the One Country Song He Wishes He Wrote [Exclusive]
Thomas Rhett is certainly an accomplished singer and song-writer in Nashville — with 20 No. 1 singles in his career, one can say he knows what he is doing.
But, is there a country song by another artist that he wishes he had written?
Thomas Rhett Reveals the One Country Song He Wishes He Wrote
In speaking with the "Beautiful as You" singer on Taste of Country Nights, since he is so well-versed in writing songs, we wanted to know if there was one he missed; One song that Rhett hears on the radio while driving around, and he thinks to himself, "Why didn't I write this?"
Rhett took a moment to gather his thoughts, then came back with a solid answer:
"Man, I love 'Man Made a Bar.' I love it so much."
Of course, he is referring to the Morgan Wallen and Eric Church duet that was released earlier this year. Interestingly enough, "Man Made a Bar" was not written by Wallen or Church, but by Rocky Block, Jordan Dozzi, Larry Fleet and Brett Tyler.
The "Die a Happy Man" singer explains his love for this particular record even further.
"Maybe it's because I'm a big Morgan fan, but I'm also a die-hard Eric Church fan, and I feel like both those guys crushed that song," he said.
Are Eric Church and Thomas Rhett Friends in Real Life?
Rhett recently told Rolling Stone that they are. Rhett recalls his hero reaching out after he'd had a chance to listen to Country Again.
"He texted me, 'Hey man, I just want to tell you how great I think Country Again is,' " Rhett recalls.
It seems like Rhett's answer to the question of which country song does he wishes he wrote is a wink back at Church for his praise of Rhett's last album. It shows strong the country music community in Nashville really is.
