The Best Chicken Sandwich in Iowa is Not From a Fast Food Place

It seems like everybody is getting in on the "Chicken Sandwich Wars" these days. Popeye's, Chick-fil-A, Burger King, Culver's, McDonald's... pretty much every fast food restaurant has their own version of the chicken sandwich now. But, it wasn't a fast food restaurant that was awarded the best chicken sandwich in Iowa by the website Love Food. It was a restaurant that's unique to the state of Iowa, and probably not a place you'd think to order chicken!

When you hear Zombie Burger, you probably think burgers and the undead. But, did you know that Zombie Burger allows you to order ANY of their famous burgers with chicken instead of beef? Grilled chicken breast or fried chicken breast are both patty options when you're building your sandwich. There are also a few sandwiches that are specifically made for chicken.

According to the article from Love Food, the best chicken sandwich in the whole state of Iowa is Stuntman Mike's Chicken Sandwich from Zombie Burger in Des Moines. The sandwich contains Nashville hot chicken, cheddar cheese, coleslaw, and pickles, all on a Texas toast bun.

If Nashville hot chicken isn't your thing, there are a few other delicious-looking chicken sandwiches on Zombie Burger's menu. The "Backwoods" consists of sweet heat BBQ-dipped chicken, cheddar cheese, onion rings, and ranch on a Texas toast bun, and the "Helldorado" contains hot honey BBQ-dipped chicken, jack cheese, hot honey mayo, and bacon, also on a Texas toast bun.
