Teen Driver and Passenger Able to Escape SUV Fire
An oil leak is being pinpointed as the cause of a vehicle fire in Fayette County earlier this week.
The Fayette County Sheriff responded to a report of a car fire at about 3pm Monday (June 24), in the 24,000 block of Juniper Road, north of West Union.
A deputy at the scene immediately ordered the occupants of the vehicle to get out, and the officer helped them get to a safe location, away from the burning vehicle.
The 2008 Ford Escape was being driven by 18 year old Dalyn Wurzer of West Union; she and her passenger were not injured.
According to the West Union Fire Department, the fire in her 2008 Ford Escape was caused by an oil leak.
