SW Wisconsin Murder Suspect Caught By Eastern Iowa Law

HOLMEN, Wis. (AP) — Police in western Wisconsin say a suspect in a woman's death has been arrested in Iowa.

Officers in Holmen, north of La Crosse, were asked to do a welfare check on the woman Monday night. Officers found her dead about 7 p.m.

Holmgren Police Chief Mike McHugh says the 29-year-old male suspect was arrested in Jones County of Iowa.

Authorities have not released the woman's name or details about how she died.

McHugh says the suspect was having car problems on the side of the road when he was arrested by the Jones County Sheriff's Department and the Iowa Highway Patrol. He says the suspect may be charged with first-degree intentional homicide.
