Suspicious Waterloo Man Arrested in Oelwein
Oelwein authorities have arrested a Waterloo man, described as a suspicious individual, who was walking on the northwest side of Oelwein.
The Oelwein Police Department received several reports of a suspicious person at about 7pm Thursday (March 18).
At first, officers were not able to locate the person in question, however at about 10pm, police were called to the 700 block of 6th Street NW, where a man fitting the description of the suspect, was causing a disturbance.
He was identified as 26 year old Zachary Van Brunning of Waterloo.
Van Brunning also tried to steal a vehicle, and had committed an assault with a weapon at the same location.
Van Brunning was taken into custody on charges of Willful Injury, Operating Without the Owner's Consent, and Carrying Weapons.
