Suspicious Vehicle Report Leads to Arrest of Woman
The report of a suspicious vehicle in the town of Clermont has resulted in the arrest of a local woman.
The Fayette County Sheriff received the report of a suspicious car, shortly after 10am Tuesday (July 3). The vehicle was located by deputies a short time later, outside of a residence on State Street. A woman, matching the description given to authorities, was found walking toward the porch of the home. After an investigation, 51 year old Margaret Carroll was arrested for Operating Under the Influence, 1st Offense. She was held pending an appearance before a judge.
Late Monday night (July 2), a Fayette County deputy stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation in Oelwein. The officer determined that the 2-17 year old juveniles in the vehicle had been smoking marijuana. Both were taken to the Oelwein Police Department, to be picked up by their parents. Both teens have been referred to juvenile court services for possession of marijuana, with other charges still pending.
