
Suspicious Man in an Oelwein Alley is Arrested
A report of a suspicious man in an Oelwein alley, has resulted in his arrest.
Shortly after 12:30am Friday (July 13), Oelwein Police received a report of a suspicious man, in the alley behind the 10 block of North Frederick Avenue.
As a result, 43 year old Russel Olander of Oelwein, was arrested on a charge of Enhanced Public Intoxication-3rd or Subsequent offense.
Oelwein Police were also called out to vandalism on the northeast side of town. The first incident of criminal mischief, was reported at about 8:30am Saturday in the 200 block of 1st Avenue NE. Another criminal mischief was called in to police at about 11:30am Saturday, in the 700 block of 1st Avenue NE. Both incidents remain under investigation.
Sunday morning, at about 7:45am, Oelwein Police took a report of a theft in the 200 block of East Charles Street. No charges have been filed.
And Sunday night, at about 10:30pm, authorities cited 31 year old Ryan Gunningham of Oelwein, for having a dog at-large in the 200 block of 2nd Avenue SE.
