Authorities have arrested 4 people in a drug investigation in Northeast Iowa, that also turned up some stolen weapons.

At about 3pm Monday (June 26), the Fayette County Sheriff and Fayette Police Department, executed a search warrant at a home in the city of Fayette. According to local police, the residence had been investigated in other criminal activities in the past.

A search uncovered several guns that were stolen from another state and hidden in the home, over $1,500 in cash that was received from the sale of stolen property, methamphetamine, and a quantity of drug paraphernalia.

Four people were arrested: 33 year old Joshua Sargent of Fayette, 36 year old Jesus Vargas of Postville, 60 year old Marva Seeders of Milford, and 41 year old Cynthia Robertson of Bristol, Tennessee.

The four face various charges, involving firearms, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

Sargent had previously been convicted of threatening to kill the Fayette police chief, and was given probation and suspended prison sentences last year.

Two vehicles were also confiscated by authorities.

The investigation, conducted by several agencies including the Fayette County Sheriff, Fayette Police Department, Winneshiek County Sheriff, and LaCrosse County Wisconsin Sheriff, continues, and more charges are expected.
