Smile! You’re on Traffic Camera! (or Will be Soon)

For all those motorists who are wondering when the city of Fayette will install their new speed cameras, your wait is over; at least for the installation part.

The Automated Traffic Speed Cams have been installed in key areas of the city, in areas that seem to have a problem when it comes to drivers going just a little too fast in the neighborhoods.

According to the Fayette Police Department, a post reminding drivers of the location of the cameras, plus the signage that indicates the presence of the units, still needs to be posted.

There will be an initial warning period for speeders, to help local motorists get used to the video cameras, and remind residents when the warning period begins, and when it ends.

Authorities will announce when the enforcement will officially begin.
