Slick Roads a Factor in a 3 Vehicle Accident Near West Union
Four people were injured when 3 vehicles collided on a snow-covered road in Fayette County early Sunday evening (March 10).
At about 5pm last night (Sunday), the Fayette County Sheriff received several 911 calls, reporting a 3 vehicle accident near the intersection of Nature Road and Highway 150, north of West Union.
A car driven by 26 year old Jessica Jepsen-Rupp of Decorah, along with a car driven by 73 year old Phyllis Fosaan of West Union, were traveling southbound, when they slowed near the intersection. Those 2 vehicles were struck by an SUV driven by 21 year old Anthony Williams of Victoria, Minnesota, that failed to slow down, and went out of control because of the weather/road conditions.
Four people sustained minor injuries, and were treated at the West Union hospital. Williams' and Rupp's vehicles were totaled, and Fosaan's car had $1,500 in damage.
Williams is being charged with Following too Close.
The Fayette County Sheriff was assisted by the West Union Fire Department, along with Gunderson and Postville Ambulance Services.
