An eastern Iowa teenager is recovering from injuries he sustained in an accident involving a car and a skateboard.

Emergency personnel were called out to the 2800 block of Wildflower Road in Robins, at about 11:30am Saturday (April 24).

An investigation determined that a vehicle, driven by 17 year old Elijah Ervin, was northbound on Wildflower Road, pulling a 13 year old relative on a skateboard while he held onto the back of the vehicle. At one point, the trunk lid of the car fell down, striking the skateboarder, who then fell to the ground.

The 13 year old skateboarder was taken by Lifeguard Air Care Ambulance to University Hospitals in Iowa City. The younger teen's name was not released, nor was a condition report, other than the boy's injuries were not life-threatening.

Robins Police were assisted by the Robins Fire Department, Hiawatha Police, Linn County Sheriff's Rescue, Area Ambulance, and the Lifeguard Air Care Helicopter.
