VILLAGE OF WAUZEKA, Wis. (AP) — Two young sisters have died in a house fire in southwestern Wisconsin's Crawford County.

Sheriff's officials identify the victims as 15-year-old Trinity Bartels and her 12-year-old sister, Lena. Firefighters were called to a house in the Village of Wauzeka about 11:30 p.m. Monday. A caller said the house was fully engulfed in flames with smoke pouring from the windows.

The caller, neighbors and a sheriff's deputy all tried to enter the home but were driven back by smoke and fire. The girls' bodies were found once the fire was extinguished.

Authorities say they were the only ones home at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but Sheriff Dale McCullick says the fire does not appear suspicious.
