Shooting on ‘Bond 25’ Delayed After Daniel Craig Injures Ankle In Stunt
Even super-spies get hurt sometimes.
The Sun reports that the mighty James Bond himself has been temporarily felled by a bum leg, as Daniel Craig was apparently injured while filming a stunt for the upcoming 25th Bond movie while on location in Jamaica. Their source says:
Daniel was suited and booted for one of the last scenes in Jamaica. He was sprinting during filming when he slipped and fell quite awkwardly. He was in quite a lot of pain and was complaining about his ankle.
The Sun says that Craig returned to the United States to get his ankle X-rayed. While Craig should theoretically be okay to resume filming soon “filming at Pinewood Studios in scheduled for this coming weekend, has been cancelled as a result of Craig’s knock.”
Hopefully if Craig is seriously injured, they at least got a good shot of the spill. Tom Cruise broke an ankle on the set of Mission: Impossible — Fallout while performing a stunt, and the shot not only made it into the film (it’s the one where he leaps from one London rooftop to the next and comes up short and lands on the edge) it became a focal point of the marketing. We love when a star suffers for their art. Suffer, Daniel Craig! I expect you to suffer!
Wow, I turned into a Bond villain very quickly. Really snuck up on me! Bond 25 is scheduled to open in theaters on April 8, 2020.
