The Fayette County Sheriff reports several recent arrests.


Just before 10pm Saturday (June 3), a deputy noticed a vehicle parked with it's flashers on, northeast of West Union. The officer found the vehicle was disabled. The driver, 21 year old Timothy Hogan of West Union, was arrested for Driving While Revoked for prior drug convictions, and not having insurance.

Also on Saturday, the sheriff got a report of a pickup being driven erratically and at a high rate of speed, coming into the city of Elgin. The driver, 23 year old Jerod Franzen of Elgin was arrested for OWI-2nd offense, and Reckless Driving.

The Fayette County Sheriff received a report early Saturday, of a disturbance on 50th Street, near Oelwein. Following an investigation, 35 year old Shawn Bentley of Oelwein was arrested on charges of Domestic Abuse Causing Injury.

Late Friday night, the sheriff got a complaint of a vehicle being driven all over the roadway, in the 7,000 block of Harding Road, north of Clermont. The driver, 51 year old John Disher of Savannah, Illinois, was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (Drugged), Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

And Friday afternoon, 25 year old James Langreck of McGregor turned himself in at the Fayette County Sheriff's office, on a valid Fayette County warrant for a parole violation. He was held on $100,000 cash only bond.
