An area teen escaped injury, but her SUV wasn't quite as fortunate, when she crashed into a deer in Fayette County.

The accident happened just after midnight on Thursday (June 20), on Highway 150, north of Fayette.
18 year old Destiny Kleppe of Fayette was driving north, when a deer ran out onto the road, colliding with Kleppe's vehicle. She was not injured, but her 2008 Jeep Liberty had $3,000 in damage.

The Fayette County Sheriff also reported that they arrested two area residents on outstanding warrants. On Wednesday (June 19), 26 year old Dondrell Hudson of Oelwein was taken into custody on a Fayette County Warrant for a probation violation. He was originally charged with Robbery-2nd Degree. Hudson was held on a $1500 cash or surety bond. The Fayette County Sheriff was aided by the Linn County Sheriff.

Also on Wednesday, 19 year old Jordan Cornwell of Cedar Rapids was arrested on a Fayette County warrant for a probation violation. The original charges were 3 counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, and Operating without the Owner's Consent. The Black Hawk County Sheriff assisted the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
