The Buchanan County Sheriff's Office reports several recent arrests for various incidents.


Authorities have concluded an investigation at a home in Quasqueton with the arrest of an area woman. The sheriff executed a search warrant at a home in the 300 block of South 3rd Street in Quasqueton in January. On February 14th, deputies arrested 42 year old Vanessa Johnson of Quasky, in the 200 block of North Water Street. Johnson is being charged with Aiding and Abetting Possession of Firearms/Ammunition by Felon and Aiding and Abetting Possession of Firearms/Ammunition by Domestic Violence Offender. Johnson was also charged with Interference with Official Acts on an unrelated incident.

A Waterloo man was recently taken into custody on several arrest warrants from Buchanan County. 18 year old Joseph Brunson had active arrest warrants for first offense Operating While Intoxicated, Possession of Controlled Substance – Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Escape from Custody and Interference with Official Acts. These charges stem from an incident that occurred last June.

A Lamont man was arrested on an outstanding warrant for some vandalism. 24 year old Patrick Conry was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant from Emmet County for 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief.

And a Mount Auburn driver faces a list of charges following a recent Buchanan County traffic stop in Brandon. 41 year old Dennis Kramer Jr., was charged with second offense Operating While Intoxicated/Impaired, second offense Possession of Controlled Substance, Driving While License Revoked, Driving While License Suspended, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and cited for Fraudulent Use of Registration.
