The Fayette County Sheriff's Office is reporting some recent accidents, and also some unrelated arrests.

At about 8pm last Wednesday, the sheriff took a report of a car in the ditch at the intersection of 100th street and Q Avenue, near Maynard. A car driven by 50 year old Jean Ouderkerk of New Hampton, went out of control and entered the ditch. No one was injured, damage was minimal, and the accident remains under investigation.

Shortly after 5pm last Wednesday, the Fayette County sheriff got a report of a car in the ditch on "G" Avenue, 2 miles north of Aurora. A car driven by 63 year old Dean Ohloff of Postville went out of control and into the ditch. Ohloff was temporarily trapped in the vehicle, but he was not injured. That accident is also under investigation.

An Oelwein woman was arrested last week (Nov. 25th) on a Fayette County warrant for failure to appear for an ongoing criminal conduct charge. 18 year old Abbie Miller was taken into custody and held on $1500 cash bond. Oelwein Police assisted in the arrest.

And Friday evening, the sheriff was called out on the report of marijuana found at Prairie View Facility near Fayette. A resident of the facility, 19 year old Alexander Jacobi, was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was also wanted in Back Hawk county on a warrant for failure to appear for a pre-trial conference, on an original charge of possession of marijuana.
