Two area residents have been taken into custody by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, on outstanding arrest warrants in separate cases.

 

Both arrests happened Tuesday (May 7th). 42 year old Melissa Hempstead of Oelwein was picked up on a Fayette County warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of Theft in the 5th Degree. She was held on $450 bond.

And 50 year old Kenneth Thornton of Oelwein was taken into custody on a warrant for Failure to Serve Jail Time. Thornton was held until his sentence is served.

Oelwein Police assisted the Fayette County Sheriff in both arrests.
