The Oelwein Police Department is reporting several unrelated, weekend arrests.
Just before 8pm Sunday (Jan. 15), 40 year old Christopher Potts of Oelwein was taken into custody following an incident in the 100 block of 4th Avenue SE. Potts was charged with domestic abuse assault.

At about 3am Sunday, 30 year old Nathan Kirby of Oelwein was arrested for criminal mischief 2nd degree, assault on persons engaged in certain occupations, enhanced public intoxication, assault, and interference with official acts. The arrest was made in the ten block of 1st Avenue SE.

On Saturday afternoon, 22 year old Darrick Eubanks Jr of Waterloo was taken into custody after an incident in the ten block of 7th Street NW. He was charged with violation of a no-contact order, as well as a Black Hawk County warrant for failure to appear, on an original charge of domestic abuse assault.

And late Friday afternoon, Oelwein Police officers, assisting an outside agency with a search warrant, arrested 19 year old Stephen Loers of Oelwein for carrying weapons. He was also charged with robbery 1st degree in conjunction with an investigation into an earlier incident.

Oelwein Police also investigated a traffic accident at about 5am Sunday, at the intersection of Highway 150 and 2nd Avenue SE. A pickup driven by Matthew Kastli collided with a car driven by Nancy James. No injuries were reported.
