Taboo Nightclub Accused Shooter Waives Extradition [UPDATED]

[UPDATE, 4/20/2021, 11:30 a.m.]: CBS2 is reporting, according to the office of Linn County Attorney Nick Maybanks that accused Taboo Nightclub shooter Dimione Jamal Walker has waived his right to extradition in the case. According to Maybanks, this means that Walker will now likely be "turned over to the Illinois Department of Corrections and they would decide what to do with him". Walker faces charges of first-degree murder, intimidation with a dangerous weapon, going armed with intent, and felon in possession of a firearm for the April 10th shooting.]

[ORIGINAL STORY]: KWWL reports that a second man was arrested Monday in Chicago in connection with the shooting at Taboo Nightclub & Lounge in downtown Cedar Rapids earlier this month.

The U.S. Marshals Service says that 29-year-old Dimione Jamal Walker was arrested and is wanted for first-degree murder out of Linn County for the shooting.

According to the Cedar Rapids Police Department, Walker was arrested earlier this morning in Matteson, Illinois:

Officers with the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force today narrowed their search to an address in the 500 block of Holiday Plaza Drive in Matteson, Illinois. Shortly after 10 a.m., Marshals identified Walker exiting a building and proceeding to a vehicle. Walker was arrested without incident and transported to the Chicago Police District 5 for processing, where he remains in custody.

Last week, Timothy Ladell Rush was charged with second-degree murder in the shooting. The two victims were identified as 25-year-old Michael Valentine, and 35-year-old Nicole Owens, both of Cedar Rapids. 10 others were reported to have been shot as well.

A criminal complaint stated that Rush was seen on video shooting and killing Owens, who was later determined to be the mother of his child. Rush also shot another man in the head and is accused of "intentionally and indiscriminately" shooting into the crowd of people.
