Sam Hunt is giving a glimpse of the country lifestyle in his new track, "Country House."

Hunt wrote this song with Josh Osborne, Ross Copperman and Michael Lotten, and it's stacked with lyrics that paint a rich imagery of what life out in the "country house" is like.

The midtempo tune opens with cricket chirps, setting the stage for a trip to the countryside led by Hunt and his nostalgic, romance-driven heart.

“Bible by the bed, double barrel by the door / Chickens on the rooftop, hickory on the floor, oh / Down a little dirt road out here / Somewhere where the sunshine shines,” he sings, before sharing what life together in the country promises.

“Where you can let your hair down and I can ride some squares 'round / Our own little fresh patch of beans / And I can run my bird dogs, cut the grass with my shirt off and / Swim in an old pair of jeans, baby,” the Georgia native continues.

Hunt then declares affectionately in the chorus, “I wanna live in a country house, in a country house with you / I want a stove full of wood and coal on a hill with a heavenly view / Where the days are longer and our love gets stronger / And the grass is a little bit blue / Cutting wood for the whittle of it - out in the middle of the country / In a country house with you, you.”

Sonically, “Country House” offers a moderate stripped-back production accompanied by the 808s and synth beats that Hunt typically spotlights in his music.

“Country House” alongside “Last Hurrah” appear on Hunt’s newly rolled-out EP, Locked Up. The four-track set also includes its lead single, "Outskirts," and the title track, which Hunt will perform at the 2024 CMT Music Awards on Sunday, April 7.

Hunt’s latest full-length album is 2020’s Southside, which spawned the chart-toppers “Body Like a Back Road,” “Kinfolks,” “Hard to Forget” and “Breaking Up Was Easy in the 90s.”
