An accident in Bremer County involving three vehicles, including a tractor, put 2 people in the hospital.


The Bremer County Sheriff was called out at about 1:45pm Monday (Oct. 22) to a multiple vehicle accident just west of Tripoli on Highway 93.

A westbound car driven by 25 year old Patrick Laconte of Tripoli, traveled west of center and struck an oncoming tractor pulling two grain wagons. Laconte's car then hit an oncoming SUV driven by 58 year old Kendra Lampe of Waterloo.

The operator of the tractor, 53 year old Brian Kuker of Tripoli, was not hurt. Patrick Laconte and Kendra Lampe were taken to Allen Hospital in Waterloo. There was no indication of the severity of their injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by the Bremer County Sheriff, with charges pending.

The sheriff was assisted at the scene by the Iowa DNR, Iowa State Patrol, Tripoli Police, Fire, and Ambulance, Denver Ambulance, and the Iowa D.O.T..
