Rural Man Found Dead Near Sumner is Identified
We now know the name of the man found dead near his Northeast Iowa residence Wednesday morning.
The Fayette County Sheriff has identified the victim as 39 year old Josh Brayton of rural Sumner.
Brayton's body was found at about 8am at the end of the driveway to his home, between Sumner and Hawkeye. He was reportedly bleeding from his chest.
An autopsy has determined that Brayton died of a gunshot wound.
The investigation continues. Anyone with information regarding the incident, or who may have passed the area of 17486 "T" Avenue in the early morning hours of February 22nd, to call the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
The Iowa DCI is assisting in the investigation.
