Rural Jesup Rollover Accident Puts Teen in Hospital

A local teenager is recovering from injuries in a rural Buchanan County rollover accident.

It happened at about 8:30pm Tuesday (March 20) on Highway 20, southwest of Jesup.

A sport utility vehicle went out of control and rolled. The driver, an 18 year old from Independence, was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The driver's name was not released. A condition report was not available, but according to sources, the injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

The Buchanan County Sheriff was assisted by the Jesup Fire Department; the accident is still under investigation.
