Roommates Arrested After Causing a Commotion

Two roommates living in Maynard, were arrested after someone reported a disturbance to the Fayette County sheriff's Office.

Shortly after 8pm Saturday (April 10), deputies were called to a residence in the 200 block of Adams Street in Maynard. Following an investigation, 56 year old Jeffrey Woods of Maynard was taken into custody for public intoxication. His roommate, 62 year old Dean Hamann of Maynard, was charged with a sex offender registry violation, by knowingly providing false information. Both men were held until an appearance before a judge.

A West Union woman, 30 year old Britney Piper, turned herself in, to the Fayette County jail, for a probation violation warrant from Blackhawk County. Her bond was set at $5,000; Piper was released and given a court date to appear in Blackhawk County at a later date.
