The former West Union Police officer who claimed she was forced to resign last month after she filed sex harassment charges against the police chief, has filed a civil suit against the city.

Sierra Fox claims that the City of West Union, Police Chief Paul Becthold, and City Administrator Nick McIntyre violated her civil rights. The suit was filed Tuesday in Fayette County District Court in West Union.

Fox claims that Chief Bechtold made derogatory remarks about women, including herself, to other officers on the force.

Fox was in charge of the department's K-9, Xena; Fox claims that the order to return the dog to the city, was in retaliation for filing complaints about the police department to state officials.

Fox also claims that before she was put in charge of the dog, it had been mistreated.

Fox is suing for the alleged retaliation, as well as sexual harassment. Her suit was filed in Fayette County District Court this week.
