Recent wintry weather has put area law enforcement on notice, that some of the driving public should be a little more cautious when traveling on snow or ice-covered roads.

In Floyd County, the sheriff reports that a few cars and semis slid into ditches Monday during the latest winter storm. However, when the temperatures dropped Monday night and Tuesday morning, the roads iced up and the sheriff was called to numerous multi-vehicle accidents.

Most of the accidents were due to motorists driving too fast for conditions. No injuries were reported, however there were some accidents in which major damage was done.

A car collided with a semi near Rudd, 2 semi's crashed into each other, and other semi's were involved in accidents near Floyd.
