Reba McEntire's name has long been synonymous with the annual Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards ceremony. The show's 2019 broadcast will be the country icon's 19th year as host.

McEntire's past ACM Awards hosting gigs include her 1986 debut alongside co-hosts Mac Davis and The Dukes of Hazzard's John Schneider. To give you an idea of how much country music has changed since then, Hank Williams Jr. won Entertainer of the Year in '86, with Randy Travis and his album Storms of Life claiming multiple trophies. Also that year, Dwight Yoakam was recognized as the next big thing among male artists; McEntire won that year as well, for her "Whoever's in New England" music video.

Sporadic ACM Awards hosting gigs followed until McEntire became the show's regular host from 2001 until 2012; she then reclaimed her old gig in 2018. McEntire's 21st-century ACM hosting appearances rank among her best, especially that two-year run (2011-2012) with fellow jokester Blake Shelton as co-host.

In addition to her recurring role as host, McEntire's one of the most decorated performers in the ACM Awards' 53-year history. She's won 16 trophies overall, off a staggering 47 career nominations. Her seven Female Artist of the Year awards, won between 1984 and 1994, set a record surpassed by Miranda Lambert's current run of nine straight wins.
