Pounds of Meth Seized in Massive Minnesota Drug Bust
Aitkin, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities in northeastern Minnesota are reporting a massive methamphetamine bust.
A news release issued earlier this week by the Aitkin-Itasca-Mille Lacs Violent Crimes Enforcement Team says agents served search warrants in the City of Aitkin in connection to a meth trafficking investigation.
Officials say the trafficking investigation identified 44-year-old Lucas Peifer of Sauk Center as a source of methamphetamine for several communities in Aitkin, Mille Lacs and St. Louis Counties.
As a result of the search warrants, law enforcement seized more than two pounds of suspected meth and $7,000 in cash, the news release says.
Peifer was taken into custody without incident and is being held in the Aitkin County Jail on suspicion of first-degree drug sales and first-degree drug possession.
