Possible Arson Fire Destroys Garage, 2 Homes

Authorities are looking for the cause of a fire in Oelwein, that destroyed a garage and heavily damaged two homes.

Fire crews were called out shortly after 6pm Thursday (Sept. 14) to 124 4th Avenue NE.

The fire began in a garage, then spread to the house, then next door to a home just to the south.

Everyone was able to get out of the homes without injuries.

Investigators are looking at the possibility that the incident is a case of arson.
