Popular Grocery Store Says It Has No Plans To Open A Store In This Eastern Iowa Neighborhood
It's the thing everyone in the QC mentions wanting: a Trader Joe's.
If you ask people on the cesspool known as social media what they want to see in the Quad Cities, at least half of them will say the same thing:
Trader Joe's.
In fact, Forbes did a whole article on why folks are so in love with Trader Joe's and the cult following it has. It's designed to be more of an "experience" than just a trip to the grocery store. You can try things, eat samples, sip coffee, and check out flavor combinations from around the world as you shop. The spice aisle has it's own employee working it, as surely you've seen their 'Everything But The Bagel' seasoning.
There's even a Trader Joe's podcast.
But now, the neighborhood grocery store (with infamously unique snacks) says they do not have plans to come to Davenport, according to a statement obtained by WQAD. Trader Joe's is eyeing over 200 neighborhoods across the country to possibly set up stores but a spokesperson told the outlet:
At this time, we do not have a location to confirm in the Davenport area
Doesn't sound very promising for us.
They do have a plan this year to open nearly two-dozen stores across 14 states.
I bet you can also think of plenty of spaces in Davenport and around here that a Trader Joe's could move into, especially as more businesses shutter. Where would you like to see a Trader Joe's? Let us know in the app!
