A popular local festival is just a couple of months away.

Summer is rolling on and we're getting closer to Alternating Currents, the music/art/comedy/film festival held in downtown Davenport.

They have released their film lineup a few weeks ago and now, we know what comedians will be taking the stage for the area's largest comedy event of the year.

The Alternating Currents comedy kickoff event will be on Thursday, August 15th at the Capitol Theatre with comedian Greg Warren.

Greg is a veteran standup comic from St. Louis who can be seen in his Amazon Prime Special.

Plenty of Midwest comedians will share a few laughs too. Clifton Dewayne Antoine from Des Moines, Erica Nicole Clark from Chicago, James Draper from the QC, Dana Ehrmann from Milwaukee, and more. Exact performance times and venues haven't been released yet.

Jake Truemper, who is included in the comedy lineup, is one of our very own from U.S. 104.9!

Alisha Espey of the Downtown Davenport Partnership said in a press release:

As our audiences with the comedy shows continue to grow, we're excited to invest into the talent lineup to offer a larger scale show. It will also be the first time that Alternating Currents is able to utilize the beautifully restored Capitol Theatre – and as with all of our Alternating Currents events, this is a free show and great opportunity to visit a treasured space in the community

Alternating Currents will run from August 15th-18th in downtown Davenport and will feature many different forms of art and entertainment. You can keep up with the latest on Alternating Currents' Facebook page.
