The Oelwein Police Department is investigating vandalism, a theft and a burglary from over the weekend.


The criminal mischief incident was reported to police at about 11:30am Friday (Aug. 4) frm the 100 block of 6th Avenue NW. There was no other information released about the vandalism.

The theft report was turned in to police just before 11pm Friday, from the 800 block of 1st Street NE. No other details were available.

And the break-in was reported shortly after 2am Saturday, from the 10 block of North Frederick. All three incidents remain under investigation.

An Oelwein teen has been taken into custody on an outstanding warrant. Shortly after 3pm Saturday, Oelwein Police arrested 19 year old Isiah Heidt in the 2600 block of South Frederick. The warrant was from Dubuque County, for a probation violation: the original charge was Theft-2nd Degree.

Oelwein Police pulled over a car late Saturday night in the 300 block of South Frederick. After investigating, 36 year old Jesse Jones of Waterloo was arrested for Driving While License is Revoked.

And at about 6am Saturday, Oelwein officers pulled a car over in the 100 block of South Frederick, after getting several complaints that underage females were driving. A 15 year old girl from Oelwein was cited, then released, for Driving While her License is Suspended.
