Pickup Driver Charged in Sideswipe with Semi

An Independence man is being charged for causing an accident in which a pickup sideswiped a semi.

The Buchanan County Sheriff's Office released the information this week.

Deputies were called out at about 7pm Monday, April 1st, to an accident in the 2600 block of Highway 150, south of Independence.

A 1994 Chevrolet 1500, driven by Matthew Heister of Independence, was northbound on 150 when he crossed the center line and collided with the rear tires of the trailer of a semi that was southbound.

The driver of the 2018 Kenworth was Timothy Clements of Marion. No one was injured.
Heister is being charged with Failure to Yield Half of the Roadway.
