Pickup Crashes into Pedestrian Near Coggon
An Eastern Iowa man is recovering after being struck by a pickup while walking along a road.
The accident was reported to authorities just before 6pm Thursday, in the area of Coggon Road and Sutton Road, west of Coggon.
Emergency personnel determined that a Chevy Silverado, driven by 37 year old Nathan Maher of Coggon, crashed into a pedestrian who was walking in the westbound traveled portion of the road.
The pedestrian, identified as 37 year old Denvir Robertson of Shellsburg, was taken by Center Point Ambulance, to St. Luke's Hospital, to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses at the scene reported that Robertson had been walking in the road just before he was hit, and that the accident was unavoidable.
The incident was investigated by the Linn County Sheriff, with assistance from the fire departments in Center Point and Coggon.
