One Hurt, One Charged in Rural Indy Accident
An Aurora motorist is being charged with causing a traffic accident in Buchanan County that sent one person to the hospital.
The Buchanan County Sheriff received a report of the accident at about 4pm last Tuesday (June 2). The location was the intersection of 205th Street and Nathan Bethel Boulevard, east of Independence.
A car driven by Nicholas Hare of Aurora stopped at the stop sign, but then pulled into the intersection, into the path of a pickup driven by Meredith Miller of Independence.
Miller was taken to the Independence hospital, to be treated for minor injuries. Hare was not hurt. Hare was charged with Failure to Yield the Right of Way.
The accident is still under investigation, and more charges are pending.
The Buchanan County Sheriff was assisted at the scene by the Winthrop Fire Department, and Area Ambulance Service.
