A Decorah motorist faces charges in a weekend accident in Fayette County, while three other motorists walk away from collisions with deer.

Shortly after 4am Sunday (May 1) authorities received a report of a car in the ditch on County Road W-51 near the Turkey Valley School in Jackson Junction. The driver, 21 year old Nathan Guyer, was apparently at a residence in Clermont. After deputies made contact with Guyer, he was arrested for OWI first offense and interference with official acts for resisting arrest. No one was injured.

Fayette County Deputies responded to 3 car vs deer accidents on Sunday, May 1st.

The first one happened just before 1am on Juniper Road, east of Eldorado. A car driven by 30 year old Charles Drees of West Union collided with a deer. No one was hurt, but there was $3,000 damage to his car.

The next one was at 9:30am on Harding Road, northeast of West Union. A car driven by Vernis Haberichter of Waukon struck a deer. No one was hurt, and there was $3,500 in damage to the car.

And at 10pm, 5 miles north of West Union on Juniper Road, a vehicle driven by 35 year old Veronica Remick of Decorah hit a deer. No one was injured, and there was $1,500 in damage.
